For Immediate Release:
National Home Funeral Alliance 2013 Annual Conference
(List your city, state) - [List your organization], is pleased to announce the National Home Funeral Alliance annual conference, October 18-20, 2013 in Raleigh, North Carolina. The NHFA, along with other natural death care organizations in the US and abroad, is dedicated to educating the public about death care options, including home funeral and green burial.
Did you know that caring for your own dead at home is legal in all 50 states? Families who have done so are eager to share the benefits and the beauty of this last act of caring for their loved one.
This year's conference is entitled "Home Funeral in Community: Restoring the Lost Art" and takes place at the DoubleTree by Hilton - Brownstone - University in downtown Raleigh, North Carolina.
The keynote speaker is well-known author, lecturer and comparative religions scholar Megory Anderson, who will talk about how it takes a village to attend to the dead. From caring for those who are facing the end of their lives, to accompanying them as they pass through life into death, to attending the bodies and preparing them for burial, the entire community is called upon to participate.
Other speakers include Dr. Monica Williams-Murphy, ER physician and author of "It's OK to Die," and Freddie Johnson, Director of the Prairie Creek Conservation Cemetery in Gainesville, Florida, and an exciting evening of film clips, discussion and sharing amongst professionals and families alike.
This conference includes education about the basics of how to carry out a home funeral with death midwives Jerrigrace Lyons and Olivia Bareham, and a trip to a local Green Cemetery (Pine Forest Memorial Gardens).
As a participating member/organization, [list your organization] provides information and tools for the public to talk about their wishes with family, friends and healthcare providers, and to plan ahead for their own death and funeral care in accordance with [List your state] state laws.
