FEATURED GUESTS:
Heidi Boucher
Home Death Care Guide and Consultant, Writer/Producer/Director “In the Parlor: The Final Goodbye”
In addition to working in the film and television industry, Heidi Boucher is a licensed funeral arranger and has over 30 years experience guiding families in caring for their loved ones after death at home. As a pioneer in the re-emergence of family directed funerals, she feels strongly about providing options for community members in caring for loved ones in addition to creating sacred spaces to say goodbye. Bringing beauty, being practical and instilling a sense of reverence are her guiding points in consulting families on home death care.
As an active independent filmmaker, artist and Home Death Care Guide, Heidi has been a guest speaker at the Sacramento California Art Institute, University of San Diego, Lake Washington Technical College in Seattle and served as a Capital Film Arts Alliance board member. In 2016 she completed writing, producing and directing the award winning documentary film, In The Parlor: The Final Good-Bye, an intimate portrait of three families choosing to care for their own loved ones after death instead of using funeral homes. |
