Our Collaborators and Partners

The Home Funeral Alliance is proud to partner with organizations and practitioners who share our commitment to education, community empowerment, and accessible pan-death care.

Each collaborator or organization on this page has reached out, connected with our leadership, and demonstrated a shared vision for expanding access, deepening knowledge, and supporting families with compassion and dignity.

These collaborators are more than colleagues; they are allies in reimagining what end-of-life care can look like. Together, we are building a stronger, more connected movement for meaningful,

community-centered deathcare.

We are honored to work alongside them as we build a compassionate, informed,

and connected future for home funerals and pan-death care.

Doulagivers

The Doulagivers 9 Choice Advance Directive was created by Suzanne B. O’Brien RN after her extensive work with those at the end of life for over 2 decades as a hospice and oncology nurse. There is not one Advance Directive document available ( up until now ) that encompasses all the necessary choices that a person needs to answer to not only have a positive end of life for themselves, but to guide their loved ones in a step-by-step plan on how to best support them in this last final phase.

This document is available by Doulagivers Institute for free so that everyone everywhere has the support they need to have a positive end of life.
DoulaGivers contributes to the HFA mission by including our Home Funeral Guide in their educational works and webinars.

A Healing Doula Academy

A Healing Doula Academy founded by Sundari Malcolm. Sundari is a grief and death doula, author of the book Grief Gems, and a grief expert. She came to this work after having been the Caregiver for, and losing, her mother to breast cancer and her father to brain cancer.

A Healing Doula Academy is a culmination of her 17 years of work and a lifetime of spiritual teachings. It offers a comprehensive, spiritually rooted grief and death doula training that honors ancient wisdom traditions while equipping modern doulas with practical tools for compassionate care. This self-paced online training includes 6 in-depth modules, journeying through after-death care, home funeral practices, and ancestral traditions, while also engaging with plant medicine, sound healing, and sacred movement — all rooted in cross-cultural wisdom and the energetic boundaries required of every doula

Through this partnership, HFA members receive 30% off full Academy enrollment — a $329 savings.

In addition, HFA’s Home Funeral Guidebook is now included as recommended course material, strengthening the bridge between our communities of practice.
